Establishment
The university was established under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950, registered with Bombay Public Trust with registration no. 1260 (N) dated 17.06.1988
Deemed-to-be University Status
It gained deemed university status from the University Grants Commission on May 24, 2005
'A' Grade Status from the Ministry of HRD
In 2013, DMIHER received an 'A' Grade status from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, recognizing its exceptional educational standards.
Category-I Deemed University
In 2018, DMIHER was categorized as a Category-I Deemed-to-be University by the University Grants Commission, further solidifying its reputation as a premier higher education institution.
NAAC Accreditation
The University has undergone four cycles of NAAC reaccreditation, achieving the highest grade in all cycles, with the most recent accreditation of A++ (CGPA 3.78) during its fourth cycle, the highest in Health Science Universities in the Country. It is participating in its sixth cycle of NIRF rankings, with recent rankings being 75th overall, 39th in university, 25th in Medical, and 17th in Dental college in the country. DMIHER has secured the 2nd position in the country and 47th globally in SDG 3 in the Times Impact Rankings. The university is categorized in the Diamond category in QS I-Gauge and Medical Subject rankings and has been awarded the Advanced E-Lead certification.

Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College
The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College has completed more than 30 years of its excellence in medical education. Committed to being the best, it caters to every aspect of medical education. It has world-class infrastructure with a sprawling campus, having E- classrooms, a globally relevant & updated Curriculum along with ICT intense learning opportunities.
The institution offers a comprehensive range of health education programs, spanning from Certificate to Doctoral degrees (Ph.D.). Its undergraduate program accommodates 250 students for MBBS (UG), while it admits 210 students for Post-Graduation (M.D./M.S.) across various subjects. Additionally, it offers super-specialization programs (D.M./M.Ch.) in Cardiac Anaesthesia, CVTS, Gastroenterology, Neuro-Surgery, Critical Care Medicine, and Interventional Radiology, all recognized by the Medical Council of India. The institution boasts state-of-the-art facilities including a Skill Lab, Cadaveric Lab, Simulation Lab, and Medical Museum.
It is the Nodal Centre for Faculty Development of the Medical Council of India. It is an international training center (AHA) accredited for conducting BLS and ACLS courses.
It has Acharya Vinobha Bhave Rural Hospital, which is the largest teaching hospital with over 1800 beds in central India. It offers services in all Broad Specialties. Super-specialty services in CVTS, Neurosurgery, Urology, Plastic surgery & Pediatric surgery; Cardiac anesthesia, Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Neurology, Hematology, Oncology & Nephrology and Sub-specialty services ranging from Endoscopy, Minimal access surgery, Dialysis, Infertility center, Joint replacements, Arthroscopy, Limb deformity correction to Wound care clinic (Regenerative medicine division), etc. Flocked with patients, the hospital is a very popular destination across the region, famously catering to quality health care services at a low cost.

Datta Meghe Medical College
Datta Meghe Medical College was established in February 2020 and was permitted a sanctioned intake of 150 MBBS students by the Board of Governors in supersession of Medical Council of India.
DMMC boasts a modern hospital with over 850 beds, equipped with world-class facilities aimed at providing affordable healthcare to those in need. It offers assistance in sub-specialty services such as Urology, Cardiology, Endoscopy, Minimal Access Surgery, Dialysis, Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy, and Wound Care Clinic, providing patients with high-quality healthcare services at a low cost. The hospital features well-furnished Intensive Care Units and Modular Operation Theatres. The college also houses a Cadaveric Skill Lab, Simulation Centre, and Museum, in addition to serving as a nodal centre and secretariat for the Association of Medical Education in India.
The college has well established Departments required for UG and PG teaching. The laboratories, museum and lecture theatres are fully equipped. The entire building is Wi-Fi enabled with audio-visual infrastructure. DMMC has highly qualified and trained faculty having decades of teaching experience and scores of publications. The campus has modern facilities such as swimming pool, gym and playground. The college also provides well-furnished girl’s hostel and boy’s hostel accommodation.
